You know Dasher and Dancer

On the heels of the last post in which Mike dashed through the train platform, I give you Mike looking dashing in a tux as he waltzes his way around the school’s annual Dancing with the Staff contest.

Here’s the first dance. The original song was from High School Musical 3 and therefore stripped by YouTube. I replaced that lame song with this one.

The second dance is the jive. Be forewarned, there’s a lot of whoopin’ and hollerin’ and Minime lost control of the camera at the end because Mike started waving his arms to get the crowd going and the noise somewhat startled her.

The audience and a panel of judges vote on the winner. I was surprised he and his partner won, frankly. Although they were technically very good, one of the contestants was the school’s facilities coordinator and he built a pirate ship set. He and his partner handed out little skull-and-crossbones flags to the entire audience. It looked like they had all the votes in the room. But look who took home the mirror ball!

If you know Lola, you know her favorite show is Dancing with the Stars. During The Great Hurricane Power Outage of a few years ago, she declined my uncle’s invitation to house them until electricity was restored, as he had a power generator. She insisted that she grew up by candlelight and she could do without for as long as necessary. Then the new season of Dancing with the Stars started and she loaded up the car and was out of there.  So you can imagine her incredulity when I told her Mike was spending a couple of nights a week rehearsing for Dancing with the Staff. Mike’s win has clinched the title of Perfect Son-In-Law. As if there was any doubt.
